the scent of dawn

and freshly fallen rain

passing through on its way
to far-off places

leaving sparkling bits of fractured light
and splashed up drops
of holy water

to reflect a laundered sky
gone back to blue

I like knowing that the rain I had was also the rain that came to your house.

THank goodness for the break the rain gives. It was 96 when the rains finally broke and it dropped 20 degrees. It was amazing. And then the mist was rising on the rode before us.
