Day 17: What word did you select to be your traveling companion in 2013?

What word will you choose to guide you through 2014?

::

.

Words.

I cannot choose just one.

And really, I prefer to let a word choose me.

So I shall wait, and listen.

Sometime in January, or February,

I will hear an echo.

.

This year was ordinary magic. And fifty.

But then, in truth, it was neither of those things.

In truth, it was chaos and catching up,

illness and patience,

writing and family.

It was, again and again, a beautiful mess.

A gift to be cherished, this life.

A gift.

probably the best…choosing a word for the year should not be taken lightly or you will forget it soon enough and have no meaning…

i am choosing the same one as last year, but this year, it will happen. last year’s choosing it guided me to the finish line.

Ah yes, life is rarely what you thought out before hand, but a gift, yes, with a crinkled bow and just enough magic tape to hold it all together. We love the gifts you bring.

Once again, you have so poignantly summed up this thing we call life.
I’ll be curious to see what word arrives for you in the new year… if it does at all. I was considering doing something revolutionary and not choosing a word at all! But one snuck in while my defences were down. 🙂
