the eye of the beholder

A weed is only a weed because somebody else says so.

A weed is a flower with a bad reputation.

A weed has a remarkable ability to adapt.

A weed has very strong roots.

A weed is not afraid to be scattered by the wind.

A weed has great tolerance for adverse conditions.

A weed will flower at all cost.

A weed is doing its best to survive.

I’m pretty sure I could be a weed.

I have to smile. I’ve thought much the same about coyotes, always kind of felt a respect for their ability to survive, always felt some kinship. You be the weed and I’ll be the coyote, and we will be just fine.

I have a book called Weeds (I think) – fine art photographs of beautiful, beautiful weeds. You will fit right in.

can i be a weed next to you ?
i bet our weedy patch would be decorated kind of cute, with a big front porch for all of our weedy friends….and lemonade, we’ll serve lots of lemonade to our friends…..

One of the best photos yet! I LOVE it! 🙂

Weeds… hmm. They tend to be hearty “folk” – ready to pop up in another part of the garden just as you thought you had pulled the last of the bunch.

I’ll be a weed with you… maybe a sage, or some bright yellow flower. Either way, this fits my new tagline for my life:

    I cannot NOT grow.

I let a few thistles flower this year to see what they would look like if I just let them go. They are the bane of my existance in the garden, as I can never get rid of them, but you know what? They have a pretty purple flower that I kind of love. Don’t even get me started on dendelions. It’s all in the eye of the beholder.

    Excellent, excellent post.

This will sound kind of weird, but it reminds me of this poem I read when I was 10. It went “If anyone ever calls you a drip tell them: A drip is a drop, a drop is water, water is nature and nature is beautiful”.
